  8. MetaMind software is pleased to announce the beta 5 release of its newest
  9. product Page Composer! Lite at Boston MacWorld, August 6, 1996.

  11. Features.
  12. Page Composer! Lite is a Live Objects container designed to give users new
  13. power in constructing documents and communicating ideas. It is based on a
  14. page layout and information presentation model, much like contemporary
  15. applications of this genre, but provides users with several new innovative
  16. features and with the power of embedding Live Objects. This means that
  17. users can now customize documents to fit their own needs and personal style
  18. of communication in ways they have never been able to do before.

  20. Page Composer! documents can be dragged and dropped within other Page
  21. Composer! documents as well as within other OpenDoc compliant containers,
  22. such as Claris Works and WAV.
  23.  
  24. Page Composer! Grand, coming in the first quarter of 1997, will support
  25. complex document structures, featuring multi-page sections integrated
  26. within one electronic document. It will also feature scripting and
  27. recording. With Java Applets working as Live Objects, Page Composer! Grand
  28. will take users beyond the two dimensional, printed page metaphor to a
  29. multi-dimensional, electronic metaphor more appropriate for the Networked
  30. World.

  32. Availability.
  33. Copies of Page Composer! Lite b5 will be distributed free at MacWorld and
  34. will be available thereafter from our Web site. Golden Master is slated for
  35. October 15, 1996 and will be available from selected electronic merchants
  36. at minimal cost. Page Composer! Grand will be available in the first
  37. quarter 1997. It will provide you with more power, flexibility and
  38. opportunity for creativity than traditional applications and for
  39. considerably less money.

  41. You are all welcome to show Page Composer! Lite in your booths at MacWorld.
  42. We will do all we can to ensure your success in demonstrating your parts
  43. inside a stable, capable and very flexible Live Object container!

  45. We can send you copies of Page Composer! Lite this weekend at your request
  46. or we can hand you a copy on disk at MacWorld. We will be in the Apple
  47. Pavilion next to the hands-on demo area in Hall B of the Bayside Exposition
  48. Center.
